How DBJ Knowledge Exchange collects, uses, and protects personal information.

DBJ Knowledge Exchange is operated by the Development Bank of Jamaica ("DBJ", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information when you visit or use the platform. By creating an account or using the service, you acknowledge this policy.
2. Information we collect
We may collect account information such as your name, email address, organisation, and role preferences. We also collect usage data, including pages viewed, searches, saves, downloads, and other content interactions that help us operate and improve the library. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to create and manage accounts, deliver subscription access, personalise recommendations, send service and product communications you opt into, process payments, prevent abuse, and analyse aggregate usage so we can improve the platform. We do not sell personal information.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session security, preferences, and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in or using certain features.
5. Third-party services
We use trusted third-party providers to operate the platform. Stripe processes payments. Hosting and database providers store application data and deliver the service. These providers process information only as needed to perform services for us and under appropriate contractual protections.
6. Data retention
We retain account and usage information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it in accordance with our retention practices.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your account data, or request a portable copy of certain information. You may also update many account details directly in your profile settings. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
8. Data security
We implement administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's privacy
DBJ Knowledge Exchange is intended for professionals and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
